Take a trip back in time to discover one of the world’s most inspiring colonial cities. Enclosed by immense, centuries-old walls, the historic center of Cartagena Colombia is a maze of beguiling narrow streets lined with perfectly preserved multicolored houses whose bright flowers spill out over the hand worked wooden balconies.
From first sight, Cartagena is utterly spellbinding and once a visitor falls under its charms it’s very hard to leave. Caressed by the warm waters of the Caribbean, this is the most romantic of cities, a place of fantasy where the extraordinary feels commonplace and around each corner is a world of discovery.
Once visitors pass beneath the iconic clock tower at the entrance to the heavily fortified old town, they pass into a world that has changed little from centuries ago when the Spanish hoarded wealth here to be sent over the seas to Europe. No vaccines are currently required to enter the country. However, to visit some parks, vaccination against yellow fever is required.
